Saint Lucia’s pricing has a feature I like to explain first: the $240,000 fund contribution already includes the main applicant and up to three dependants. For a family of four this changes the comparison with neighbouring islands. The figures below are in US dollars and come from the CIU investment page and the regulations on the CIU legislation page, checked in October 2026.

The National Economic Fund

WhoContribution
Applicant + up to 3 qualifying dependants$240,000
Each additional dependant under 18+ $10,000
Each additional dependant 18 or over+ $20,000
Later: newborn of a new citizen, up to 12 months$5,000
Later: spouse of a new citizen$35,000
Later: other qualifying dependant of a new citizen$25,000

The fund contribution is paid after approval and is not returned.

Real estate

The minimum is $300,000 in an approved project, whatever the size of the family, held for at least five years. On top comes a government administration fee:

FamilyAdministration fee
Applicant alone$30,000
Applicant + spouse$45,000
Each other dependant under 18+ $5,000
Each other dependant 18 or over+ $10,000

The CIU names two open projects, A’ILA Resorts Villas and Residences and Canelles Resort. S.I. No. 57 of 2026 also allows a built apartment or villa from $500,000 with a $30,000 administration fee, not to be sold for five years after citizenship. BRIDGES reminds clients that a resale after five years is not guaranteed at the purchase price.

Government bonds and enterprise

National Action Bond. $300,000 for any family size, registered in your name, no interest, repaid five years after issue, plus a $50,000 administration fee. The CIU still lists it. BRIDGES describes the bond as the region’s only route where the principal comes back (BRIDGES on bonds), but its programme page now shows four routes without it, so I always ask for confirmation first.

Enterprise. $3.5 million in an approved project with at least three jobs, or a joint project of $6 million with at least $1 million per investor and six jobs, each with a $50,000 administration fee. A third option is $250,000 in a Cabinet-approved project with an administration fee from $15,000.

Fees paid with the application

FeeAmount
Processing, main applicant$2,000
Processing, each dependant$1,000
Due diligence, main applicant$8,000
Due diligence, each dependant over 16$5,000
Review of a denied application$3,000

The identity verification interview is paid by the main applicant only. The CIU page does not state the amount, so ask your agent.

Worked examples

My calculations from the official tables:

FamilyRouteOfficial total
One adultFund$250,000
CoupleFund$256,000
Couple + 2 children under 16Fund$258,000
Couple + 3 children under 16Fund$269,000
One adultReal estate$340,000
Couple + 2 children under 16Real estate$373,000
One adultBonds$360,000, of which $300,000 is repaid
Couple + 2 children under 16Bonds$368,000, of which $300,000 is repaid

Agent, legal, translation, medical and passport costs come on top. BRIDGES budgets from $252,000 for one person on the fund route and from $342,000 on the real estate route.

Which route I suggest

For most families the fund is the cheapest in money that does not come back. Bonds make sense if you have $350,000 you will not need for five years and value getting $300,000 back. Real estate suits people who actually want a resort unit in Saint Lucia. Do not forget the affidavit: you must declare at least $350,000 in financial resources whichever route you choose. The application guide explains the documents.

Questions and answers

Is $240,000 the full price?

No. It is the fund contribution. One adult also pays a $2,000 processing fee and an $8,000 due diligence fee, so the official minimum is $250,000. BRIDGES budgets from $252,000 with translations.

What does a family of four pay?

A couple with two children under 16 pays $240,000 to the fund, $5,000 in processing fees and $13,000 in due diligence fees, a total of $258,000 in official costs.

Do I get the bond money back?

Yes. The $300,000 National Action Bond carries no interest and is repaid after five years from issue. The $50,000 administration fee is not returned. Check with your agent that bonds are currently issued.

When do I pay the investment?

After approval. Only the processing and due diligence fees are paid with the application, and they are not refundable.
